CRITERIA FOR COMPLIANCE
Participation in CPD is a requirement of Fellowship.
From 2009, Fellows are required to report their CPD participation to the College ANNUALLY.
At the end of each reporting period, the College will audit 5% of all Fellow's participation records.
ANNUAL POINT REQUIREMENT
Recognising that Fellows operate in different practice models and personal professional development needs. In 2009, it is recommended that Fellows to continue to participate and report activities in all three categories, though it is not a requirement to report participation in all categories.
2009: Minimum total of 55 points for the year including at least 30 points from Clinical Expertise Level 2.
2010: Minimum total of 85 points for the year including at least 30 points from Clinical Expertise Level 2.
2011: Minimum total of 100 points for the year including at least 30 points from Clinical Expertise Level 2.
PLAN YOUR CPD
The College encourages Fellows to complete a Personal Development Plan (PDP) to identify and plan your continuing professional development. Each PDP plan is allocated 5 points at level 2 under Category 3. Examples of how Fellows in different practice models may meet the College requirements are published in the CPD handbook.
Any Fellows who require further advice or assistance in meeting the College's requirements should contact the College's CPD Committee.(Email contact: cpd@ranzco.edu).
REPORTING AUDIT ACTIVITY
Recognising that some Fellows may not be able to complete an audit activity within an annual timeframe, the College introduced a flexible approach to reporting an audit activity in 2009.
For an audit activity that spans over a year, Fellows may report the activity as follows:
EXTERNALLY APPROVED AUDIT PROGRAM
The College may approve an externally approved audit program to run over consecutive years subject to the program meeting the College's re-accreditation requirements. This would allow Fellows who have previously not participated in these program the opportunity to do so if they wish. The College recommends that Fellows who have participated in these to repeat their participation in consecutive years. The College will, however, review written requests from Fellows for repeat participation in an approved audit program on a case to case basis.
FEEDBACK ON YOUR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE & PROVIDERS
The College accredits educational activities conducted by external educational providers. We invite Fellows to contribute to the quality assurance process by reporting any adverse educational experience that they encounter. Click here for form
