Avastin and TASS/Sterile Endophthalmitis
There has been an outbreak of Toxic Anterior Segment Syndrome (TASS) secondary to intravitreal injections of Avastin for AMD.
Two Canadian centres have reported an association of TASS/sterile endophthalmitis after intra-vitreal injection with a specific lot number of Avastin: B3002 B028. It is recommended that intra-vitreal use of Avastin from this lot number be suspended.
